Doppler VS Jelly Bean

Had a MUCH easier time finding the heartbeat today. Baby wasn't in the mood to run
away much, just a lot of kicking at the Doppler haha

I took this with my cell phone (that's all I had with me at the time), so quality isn't amazing
but you can hear the heartbeat and kind of see what the BPM was.

This is only a small clip, I listened with the Doppler for about a minute or two. But the whole time, baby kept kicking and punching! And it was so weird because I could hear it and feel it at the same time, just a weird thing to experience. Though I enjoyed it of course :)

The Most Amazing Sound

My Sonoline B Fetal Doppler arrived today!!! A day early, I was FREAKING OUT with excitement. A little worry too but I was trying to stay positive :)

Keland bought it for me last week so I would be able to hear Jelly Beans heartbeat whenever I wanted, he's been so supportive throughout the pregnancy so far. Usually knows the right
thing to say when I'm upset ;)

So I literally ran upstairs to the office (Keland is still in bed sleeping) to try it out. Laid on the floor and in a matter of a few seconds I heard the amazing sound of our Jelly Beans heartbeat. It ranged from the mid to high 150's, just as when the Dr finds it. I honestly started to almost cry it was such an amazing sound to be able to hear again after 3 weeks since my last appointment. I heard the heartbeat for all of 20 seconds before he/she moved away. I spent the next couple minutes searching but only got blips before he/she moved away again! I could feel it too, so active in there!

It's been a rough journey so far, it's been hard not to get stressed out since what happened in January with Sophia. But Keland keeps encouraging me to stay positive and even if something did go wrong, there would be nothing to prevent it or anything we could do anyway, so we might as well be positive. That's why he got me the Doppler, so in those "seems-like-an-eternity" 4 weeks between appointments, I can just listen to the heartbeat whenever I want and calm down :)

Little Jelly Bean Bump

Jelly Bean is finally big enough to make a visible impact on my body. I've been laying in bed and I take a photo with my phone about once a week. I'm going to switch to my small camera after seeing how bad the lighting and quality really is on these phone photos! Haha

The top photo is me at exactly 16 weeks
just past midnight.
The bottom photo is me yesterday at
18 weeks 5 days.

I know there is a slight difference in distance from the camera, BUT there is still a noticeable difference in bump size in those (almost) 3 weeks!

I'm very glad to be finally seeing
Jelly Bean from the outside.
Although I've been able to feel
him/her since 15 weeks and I LOVE it,
I am enjoying the other perks too :)

Maternity Clothes!

This was my first real maternity outfit that I wore to work.
Stretchy maternity pants, side ribbed shirt and of course
the comfy shoes so my back doesn't hurt :)

I was shocked at how pregnant this shirt made me look, although I was convinced I looked like a whale ;) Good thing I had Keland their to tell me otherwise :)

This was taken on September 11th, 2012 when I was almost 18 weeks.

Note: Please excuse the dirty mirror! And the messy hair! Haha

My First Food Craving

Deviled eggs and pickle spears....at 2am. This was my first random and weird craving at 15 weeks pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE these, but not all the time like I want them now.
But let's not forget the other craving I had that day....

Busters Texas BBQ.
Brisquet, garlic bread, mashed potatoes with gravy, southern style green beans,
a large Sprite and of course a full bowl of pickles.
I wanted this so bad, I went to the restaurant all by myself :)

A Little Late On the Update

I know, I'm a little late on this announcement. We found out we were pregnant on June 13th. Completely shocked but happy none the less. Our due date is February 15th, 2013!

I was completely unaware that I could have possibly conceived, I had been working out and actually lost 20lbs in the previous month! I was scheduled to start a workout program called P90X with my friend on a Monday. I looked at my calendar the day of and realized I was supposed to start my period two days before! Took a test the next night and there was that little blue cross :)
